Oak Park Varsity Eagles Defeats Windward Varsity Wildcats In Pitcher’s Duel

Both teams were strong on the mound on Monday, but Oak Park Varsity Eagles defeated Windward Varsity Wildcats 3-1. Henry Rizzotti started the game for Oak Park Varsity Eagles and recorded 21 outs.

Oak Park Varsity Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Rizzotti grounded into a fielder’s choice, David Wan walked, and Matt Leehey walked, each scoring one run.

Rizzotti earned the win for Oak Park Varsity Eagles. The hurler allowed five hits and one run over seven innings, striking out three and walking two. Alex Buck stepped on the bump first for Windward Varsity Wildcats. The hurler surrendered two hits and three runs over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking four.

Luke Sater led Oak Park Varsity Eagles with two hits in two at bats. Leehey, Rizzotti, and Wan each drove in one run for Oak Park Varsity Eagles. Oak Park Varsity Eagles turned two double plays in the game. Oak Park Varsity Eagles were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Aaron Berro made the most plays with nine.

Zach Hauser, Jack Luirette, Oliver Arenson, Garrett Boyd, and Holt Kolodny each collected one hit for Windward Varsity Wildcats. Luirette led Windward Varsity Wildcats with one run batted in. Luirette went 1-for-3 on the day. Windward Varsity Wildcats turned one double play in the game.
